Los Angeles, Calif. - October 1, 2021 - Suite Life SoCal magazine’s publisher, Sarah Harris, releases her 9th issue of the concierge magazine, which covers what’s trending from the Imperial Valley through Bakersfield. The Fall 2021 edition highlights events and entertainment in Southern California with an in-depth look at talk show host and KBLA Talk 1580’s radio station visionary and owner, Tavis Smiley. Suite Life SoCal uncovers what it takes to build your brand and reach the nation to create lasting change.
Speaking of change, Smiley’s brand of leadership highlights and uplifts others to have their voice heard. In this issue, meet some of KBLA Talk 1580’s heavy hitters: Dominique DiPrima, Dr. Melina Abdullah, Don Amiche, and Danny Morrison. Discover and uncover the heart and soul of KBLA as you read about these dynamic hosts who come together to bring you unapologetically progressive Black talk radio.
Included in this issue, Suite Life SoCal puts a spotlight on The Black Table, Los Angeles' powerhouse of multi-million dollar Black event production curators. This feature includes profiles on founding members: William P. Miller, Tammy Dickerson, Leslie Jones, Lauren Montgomery and sisters Mena and Shantee Wright. Formed in 2019 from the shared disappointment of overlooking Black businesses, this collective of Los Angeles-based Black event professionals and vendors are dedicated to elevating the presence and positioning of Black-owned businesses in the special event and creative industries.
Suite Life SoCal is more than just talk; as you journey through this issue meet Brett Dismuke, General Manager of ALLBLK and WE tv. This progressive entertainment giant speaks to how he and his team have changed the way Black television and film is viewed by providing content that shows all sides of Black life. With shows like Social Society to Partners in Rhyme, audiences can tune in at any time to be entertained and educated on all things Black.
Keeping up with arts and culture, this issue highlights some of Southern California’s rising independent artists BilionAir Carter, Taylor Stokes, and Jayce Baron. Part of the suite life is honoring the path to your purposed life. These independent artist stories both empower and give other inspiring artists wisdom for their journey. In addition, in this issue, meet former NFL player, Isaac Keys who went from the NFL to Hollywood with grace and persistence and earned a role in this season’s Power entitled - Power Book IV.
Let’s not forget about our behind-the-scenes professionals who make entertaining the world possible. La Faye Baker is a Black stunt woman who has performed stunts on films like Independence Day to series like Family Reunion on Netflix. She isn’t just staying in shape to perform stunts; through her nonprofit Diamond in the Raw Foundation, Baker shows other young girls how to navigate the male-dominated field of stunt work. Find out more about this dynamic force in Hollywood when you read Suite Life SoCal’s Fall 2021 publication.
