2022 Super Bowl Breakfast: How Giving Back Has Built A Community of Faith

Since its inception in 1988, the Super Bowl Breakfast has been the cornerstone of Super Bowl weekend and will kick off on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE. It's one of those rare moments where athletes, coaches, fans, and the local business community come together to be inspired and celebrate the men in the league who’ve given back in unique ways. “For those that may not have tickets to the game, the breakfast is a great way to be up close and personal with the NFL stars that you see on TV every week,” reveals Terry Bortz, Director, Special Projects, Super Bowl Breakfast.

Yolande Beckles: Woman on a Mission

Yolande Beckles is a self-described “Woman on a mission.” This London, England-born educationalist came to California under the auspices of making documentary films about educating children as she had before in London, which had earned her both adulation and controversy. While on this journey, she realized shea couldn't go forward with her documentary as planned. Something was wrong at home.

Barbara Gunner - Extending The Olive Branch

When I sat down to talk to Barbara Gunner, her warm smile and words greeted me. While she sits on an acre of land in a 5,000 square foot house with the best view in San Diego, she is the most humble, successful woman I have met. For many African American San Diegans, the military is often why their families call San Diego home. While this is true for entrepreneur and real estate investor Gunner, her story is not your typical military story.

African American Board Leadership Institute: Celebrating 10 Years of Building Black Boards

Have you ever had the experience of meeting someone for the first time only to feel like it was not the first time? From the moment I saw their face and heard their voice, there was something pleasantly familiar about them. This was my experience the morning I hit the ADMIT button on Zoom to begin my interview with the founders of the African American Board Leadership Institute (AABLI).
